You can do the Tattoo Academy and Piercing Academy at the same time. Other courses on offer have separate timeframes and cannot be mixed.

Yes, you can request to speak to a mentor before signing up for one of our tattoo and piercing educational courses. To do that, you can submit an enquiry form under “Mentor” section on the website or simply give us a call on 01642 989539.

At the moment, we do not provide any travel arrangements and students are required to arrange their travel to and from our tattoo and piercing courses.

We accept walk-in, however, if you want to secure your spot, you can book your time in advance.

While we offer work opportunities after completing our tattoo and piercing courses, you are not required to stay with us after the course. We also provide a marketing and business support course to teach you marketing strategies and ins and outs of running a successful tattoo and piercing business, so you go out there with all the skills and knowledge you need to open your business.

At Blackout Tattoo & Piercing Academy, we provide face-to-face courses to give our students hands-on experience needed to have a great start in the tattoo and piercing industry. However, our marketing and business support course is coming soon and will be available both online and face-to-face.

As we are located in the busy area of Middlesbrough, there is no free parking but there are parking spaces all around where you can park for a small fee.

However, each person has their own level of proficiency and skills, so it’s up to an individual whether they feel confident and ready to tattoo on skin independently. Our course provides hands-on experience with practice on both fake and real skin. Most of our students are skilled junior artists after completing the tattoo academy course, but there is additional support or those who need it.

Our Blackout Tattoo Academy provides students with fake skin, tattoo kit, and other aids to support their development as skilled junior tattoo artists. All of our tattoo and piercing courses provide you with a thorough hygiene training to prepare you for professional work in the tattoo industry.

We offer support after you finish one of our tattoo or piercing courses. You will have a chance to speak to our expert mentors and book in catch-up visits if needed. We also offer a marketing and business support course to provide you with the support to start and run your own tattoo & piercing business successfully. The course is included in the Tattoo Academy but comes at additional cost for those who have taken other courses at Blackout.

You will receive a certificate upon the completion of the course and passing relevant practical exams.
